Patient Story – Oun Pii

    NICU nurse with baby

Oun Pii is the sixth living child in her Bunong family who live in a rural district near a large wildlife area in Mondulkiri. She was born 6-weeks premature and developed an infection at birth.

Oun Pii was the first case at Chenla’s new Mondulkiri NICU who required ventilator support.

The team was able to immediately provide ventilator support, proper antibiotic administration, and careful electrolyte monitoring.

Oun Pii responded well and was able to wean off the ventilator after several days. She received CPAP for a few more days before going home, healthy and strong with her family.
